Basic Reciprocating Compressor Analysis

Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:

1. Understand the different kind of compressors as well as the different types of maintenance and reliability programs as well as what makes the reciprocating compressor unique.

2. Understand how a reciprocating compressor functions.

3. Understand the tools needed to perform proper Reciprocating Compressor Analysis.

4. Correctly Identify machine a machine and understand how to obtain the information needed for correct analysis (geometry, gas composition, limits, etc.)

5. Properly set-up a compressor in Rmonix

6. Understand Basic Reciprocating Compressor Theory

7. Understand different reciprocating compressor valves and how they are analyzed for health

8. Understand how to properly collect data and how to make sure the data collected qualifies for analysis

9. Understand how to verify compressor health and performance through pressure data and using tools such as vibration, temperature, and ultrasonic analysis
