 Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:

1. Understand the different kinds of Engines as well as the different types of maintenance and reliability programs as well as what makes the reciprocating engine unique.

2. Understand engine parts and operation and how they affect analysis

3. Understand the tools needed to perform proper Reciprocating Engine Analysis.

4. Correctly Identify the machine and understand how to obtain the information needed for correct analysis (geometry, gas , etc.)

5. Properly set-up an Engine in Rmonix

6. Understand Basic Reciprocating Engine Theory

7. Understand reciprocating engine valves and how they are analyzed for health

8. Ignition analysis – understand the key ignition measurements

9. Understand how to properly collect data and how to make sure the data collected qualifies for analysis

10. Understand how to verify engine health and performance through pressure data and using tools such as vibration, ignition, temperature, and ultrasonic
